The End Point Assessment (EPA) marks the final stage of your Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship. What is the Purpose of the EPA ?
The End Point Assessment (EPA) is designed to evaluate your competence and confidence in real workplace tasks, ensuring you can perform your role to a high standard. It gives you the opportunity to demonstrate the practical skills, knowledge, and professional behaviours you have developed during your Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship.
The EPA typically includes three key components:
- Portfolio of Evidence – A collection of examples showcasing your projects, tasks, and achievements throughout your apprenticeship, highlighting your real-world experience.
- Knowledge Test – A written or online assessment that covers core business administration theory alongside sector-specific knowledge relevant to your pathway.
- Professional Discussion – A structured conversation with an assessor where you reflect on your portfolio, explain your decisions, and demonstrate your understanding in context.
Completing the EPA successfully confirms that you are fully workplace-ready, capable of applying your skills confidently, and prepared to make a meaningful impact in your role.
How the EPA Links to Sector Pathways?
Your sector pathway shapes part of the EPA. While all apprentices complete the core business administration assessment, sector-specific knowledge and skills are included in the assessment to reflect your chosen pathway.
- NHS / Healthcare – Demonstrate understanding of safeguarding, GDPR, patient-centred processes, and NHS systems.
- Recruitment & HR – Show competence in candidate management, safer recruitment practices, GDPR compliance, and HR procedures.
- Automotive & Sales – Evidence skills in CRM systems, FCA compliance, customer service, and automotive finance processes.
- Finance & Banking – Demonstrate AML, KYC, FCA compliance, risk management, and client services knowledge.
- Engineering & Manufacturing – Showcase skills in health & safety, ISO standards, project planning, and technical documentation.
